Aistear
The curriculum we follow at Naíonra na nÓg/Once Upon a Time Montessori is Aistear. This is the national curriculum for children aged 0-6 years in Ireland.
The four themes of Aistear include wellbeing, exploring and thinking, communication and identity and belonging. Each theme has several learning goals which focus on the development of your child.
Our aim at Naíonra na nÓg/Once Upon a Time Montessori is to enable your child to achieve a number of these goals during their time with us.
Using the four themes of Aistear and the principles of Síolta we encourage each child to be confident and competent learners:
Exploring & thinking:
Supporting children to make sense of things, places and the people in their world.
Communication:
Supporting children to share their experiences, thoughts, ideas, and feelings with others.
Well-being:
Supporting children to be confident, happy, and healthy individuals.
Identity & belonging:
Supporting children to develop a positive sense of identity where each child feels valued and respected as a part of a family and community.
